About

How it Started

Lisa and Frank left corporate jobs in London in 2004 and spent three months travelling around New Zealand before moving to Martinborough and leasing the Council campground in 2005. At the time they signed the lease the campground had just six powered sites, some tent pitches and two toilets and showers.

Since then they’ve built new kitchen and bathroom amenities, twenty accommodation units and cabins, manager’s accommodation and a reception building – Frank is the builder and Lisa the painter. The park now has 26 powered and 17 unpowered sites for caravans, motorhomes and tents.  Originally operating as Martinborough Village Camping the Park joined the TOP 10 Holiday Parks Group in 2011 and become Martinborough TOP 10 Holiday Park.

Our People

As the Holiday Park has grown so has the team, from a single cleaner in 2009 we now employ up to seven people over the peak summer period.

Frank and Lisa recently moved off site but are still active in the holiday park – Lisa has also recently become a registered wedding celebrant. Our friendly team all do a bit of everything, Hilary, Jade and Shontelle are joined by backpackers or students in the summer months. Bandit, the Holiday Park cat holds the important job of “chief meeter and greeter”.
